It was more than just a tournament. The V National Wheelchair Adapted Paddle Tournament was a party for lovers of this sport, in a family atmosphere, with an incomparable environment and where at a sporting level success was for Miguel Muñoz and Javier Hurtado who took the title in a great final against Patxi Fadrique and Edorta de Anta.
The best players of this modality gathered in this tournament that took place in the municipal courts of Cubillos del Sil. At the same time, a charity tournament was organized at the Ponferrada Padel Indoor.
And it was more than just a tournament because it took place in a unique environment, in the Forest of Dreams, in El Bierzo, where athletes and family members enjoyed a spectacular weekend.
There was much more than paddle tennis. Party, swimming pool, go-kart competition, a unique environment that was possible thanks to the support of numerous companies and especially that of the Junta de Castilla León and the Cubillos del Sil City Council.
Muñoz-Hurtado champions
The competition ran from Friday to Sunday, with a very high level of participants.
In the grand final on Sunday, Miguel Muñoz and Javier Hurtado defeated Patxi Fadrique and Edorta de Anta.
The semifinalists of the tournament were Carlos Vizcaíno - José Manuel Serrano and Oscar Agea - Daniel González Peña. Meanwhile, the consolation champions, Rubén de Diego and Iñaki Ramperez, were proclaimed.
In summary, a great success in this tournament that had the collaboration of the Junta de Castilla y León, the Cubillos del Sil City Council, Fundación Mapfre and Obra Social La Caixa. And a special mention to the company VARLION, which has supported ASPADO for a long time and has offered a large number of gifts for this tournament.
